Our recent trip with Frontier Airlines Detroit Terminal out of Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) turned out to be one of the easiest starts to a family vacation we've ever taken, despite the fact that traveling with children can feel like a marathon before the vacation even starts. My partner and I were ready for the typical stress that comes with low-cost airline travel because we are parents of two active young children: lengthy lines, confusion at check-in, grumpy toddlers in security lines, and a rush to find a seat together. Rather, we encountered a serene, tidy terminal, friendly personnel, and a procedure that seemed genuinely doable from start to finish. Frontier operates out of DTW's North Terminal, which was simple to use and never felt overcrowded. The check-in kiosks were intuitive, and a smiling Frontier Airlines DTW agent stepped in to assist when our toddler decided to hit a few extra buttons. Security was quick, and we were even directed to a family-friendly lane, which made a world of difference. Once inside, there were decent food options and plenty of seating where the kids could unwind before boarding. The flight crew was upbeat and welcoming, and we were in the air on time. For a budget carrier, the entire experience was far more relaxed and family-friendly than we expected.
