I expected the typical airport annoyances—long lines, perplexing signage, delays—when I booked my flight to Toronto with Air Canada Newark Terminal out of Newark Liberty International Airport. To my surprise, however, everything felt surprisingly easy from the minute I walked through the doors. The Air Canada check-in counters were clearly marked, and even with a few people ahead of me, the line moved quickly thanks to a combination of self-service kiosks and helpful, friendly staff. I arrived a little early, just in case, but I barely needed the buffer. Less than 20 minutes were needed from beginning to end for security, which is usually the part I dread the most. TSA officers were courteous but firm. Once through, I entered a surprisingly calm terminal space with plenty of seating, clean restrooms, and a decent mix of food and drink options. I grabbed a coffee, found a seat near a window, and spent a quiet half-hour watching planes taxi by, which was oddly relaxing. The gate area was well-organized, with frequent announcements and staff making sure boarding groups were managed smoothly. No crowding, no confusion—just a calm, steady flow. Even though I was flying Economy, I felt like the experience was designed to keep stress at a minimum. From check-in to takeoff, the process was thoughtful and traveler-friendly, which made me appreciate Air Canada’s presence at Newark even more. It wasn’t flashy or luxurious, but it was calm, clean, efficient, and most importantly—easy. In a world where air travel can often feel chaotic, that kind of consistency goes a long way. I boarded the plane feeling relaxed and even a little grateful, which is a rare thing to say about flying from a major airport.
